2019 HTS Talent show – 20th Sept 2019

In this weeks podcast our hosts, Zakeer and Mukoma speak to Mrs Pretorius (educator in charge of the talent show) and some of the participants about what spectators can expect from the upcoming talent show on the 4th of October. In this week’s podcast Alrick and Megan interviewed some Matric learners and had a discussion on the upcoming matric farewell. They discussed the things they are looking forward to most, challenges, how you go about planning your outfit and choosing your means of transport to make your entrance, choosing a date/partner etc.  They also made some suggestions on how to improve high school matric farewell’s, new ideas on how to do things differently in the future, types of food learners prefer at such an event etc.

My worse fear in life/what do teenagers fear most? Our for this week is on bullying: A general discussion on what a bully is, or what makes someone a bully. Learners who were victims of bullying in the past as well as learners who were bullies in the past participated. Society’s Perception of Beauty – 24th April 2018

In today’s podcast, our hosts Sasha de Voux and Bronwyn Witbooi discuss society’s perception of beauty with Nathan Van Wyk, Kamo Vezi and Chad Batist.

We address how society sees people thanks to our use of filters and effects on pictures, how people see us as people if we use social media to seek acceptance. It covers opinions on what we should rather seek in each instead of our outer appearances, and how social media influences the way we think and perceive beauty.

We measure the importance of self-acceptance and the saying “those we matter don’t care, and those who care don’t matter”.

Presenting – Covered SA – HTS’s own Cover Band – 14th February 2018

This afternoon’s podcast was co-hosted by Sasha De Voux & Bronwyn Witbooi. The podcast was an interview of the BTHS school band, Covered SA – which included TJ Hendricks, Jay-Cee Wenn, Chané Sass and Rochelé Bock. During the interview, we learnt about the origin of the band, and how each of the bandmates became who they are because of music and how it has influenced and been included in their lives. We also learnt about their music director, TJ Hendricks’ past musical career and also their upcoming plans as a band.
